I'm in the process of planning a 5 day getaway to D.C! I'm beyond excited, and I'll be there for Independence Day {I can't think of a better place to be on the 4th!} I love planning trips and usually have an itinerary or a check list, because I like to make sure I see everything! I adore this city, it's one of my favorite places to visit in the U.S. I'll be visiting my older sister and her husband, shopping, and doing very touristy things. I've been to Washington a handful of times, and this time around I'll be going to places I've never been before in addition to the museums I plan to see again... So far, we plan to see
The National Independence Day Parade
The Botanic Gardens {I've never been, but it looks beautiful}
Tyson's Corner {I've been but have to go anytime I'm in D.C.}
Georgetown {Because it's so FAB, and I'm dying to see this ANTHRO}
While in Georgetown...Georgetown Cupcakes
National Harbor Sky wheel {I loved the London Eye, so this is a must}
Any suggestions of places you've been or recommendations?
Just discovered your blog. I love your style! DC is so much fun. We didn't make it to Georgetown Cupcakes since the line was crazy long, but Baked and Wired around the corner had amazing cupcakes and ice cream sandwiches (on fresh baked cookies!). Hope you have a great trip!

DeleteOhhh I just went a DC getaway a couple months ago!! You have to get bottomless mimosas somewhere in Georgetown - it makes shopping feel guilt-free :) I hope you have a wonderful time!

YES! I've heard lovely things about the shop, I can't wait to see it in person!
DeleteYou are brave to make the trek out to Tyson's. 😉 The Anthro at Tyson's Galleria is also a good one. If wanting to check out the city, Union Market in NE is good for lunch and perusing...oh and get a Shake Shack burger...stat!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I will have to check that out! Burgers can be my weakness! ;)
